Jim O'Neil shown in his Gallery

Jim O'Neil,

Images painted by "Mother earth and Father sky".  Jim has captured many "Gifts of Nature",
"Gifts of Wonder" as he haunted the wilds of this lake Michigan north shore country for many years.

Might we take a little stroll following and looking thru the lens of his camera, we would see just a sample of the beauty embedded within this sky and water revealed and captured by Jim thru his countless time of dedication.  Jim has captured many birds, including many eagles, grouse, owl, herons, ducks and others.

Wild animals in the wilds are revealed in their real wild habitat, which include deer, bear, bobcat, coyotes, raccoons and others.

There are many cameras in focus to capture wildlife, however not many work within the true wilds. After seeing some of these images, you too might agree with Jim's favorite quoted phrase, "The honesty of nature is only from the wild."

Jim has also captured many scenic's of Land and water, autumn colors, sunrises, and sunsets, and has strived to capture wildlife within those beautiful senics.

Jim has collected some rainbows over land and water placing himself in a possible position in rainbow weather.

Jim also strived hard to capture lightning over Lake Michigan waters, and one lightning display at 12:00 p.m. on this same beautiful bay seemed to design a great bird over the midnight water.  Is it a Firebird? Is it a Thunderbird? Is it a gift of natures mystic wonder as acclaimed by our early American cultures? Because of it's 12:00 p.m. time, and its unique design, accompanied by the great echoing thunder over this beautiful bay, it was titled "The Midnight Thunderbird".

There are five sizes to this once in a lifetime large signed and numbered edition.

This Thunderbird image has brought about many conversations, but Jim mentions one that stands out.

A nice couple arrived at Jim's place and stopping to see this image, the lady excitedly said how striking and beautiful it was. When her partner walked in, she drew his attention to this image, and asked him if he could see the Thunderbird. After a few moments of study, he said, "I just don't see a car in there". This can show us that we do all see differently.

THE THUNDERBIRD

Symbolized by the Midnight Lightening over this beautiful Lake Michigan bay.

According to first Americans,
He is a great sacred legend in his own rite

He is many, but they are only one

He rides on the clouds of the storm

His voice is thunder and a glance of his eye is lightening.

He is the great winged power.
